Revelation 3:1-6 – THE GREAT ILLUSION – sermon by Egan Yip

How do you feel about your life now? Do you feel secure? Do you feel ready to die today?

If you are in God’s hands, make no mistake, You are eternally secure. But only if you are in God’s hands. Do not think for even a second that just because you come to church every Sunday, you are saved. Do not even think, for even a second that just because you say you believe, you are saved. Do not think that just because you are baptized, you are saved. Because if you get too comfortable in that, if you get too comfortable in what you can do about professing Christianity, if you get nice and cozy about that security, and forget about everything else and leave everything else at the door, you may not realize that you were never alive to begin with.

Ephesians 5:14-16: This is why it is said: “Wake up, sleeper,
rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”
Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise,
making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

If you got no blood for God, if you got no time for God, if you got no desire to serve and worship God, you are dying. You are falling asleep and you are going to die…not of course, literally, but spiritually. Eternally.

You don’t have unlimited time, we all have a time limit. God gives us each a different time limit. It may be our death or it may be the return of Jesus. Because Jesus is coming, just as He said in Revelation: I am coming. And when Jesus returns, whenever that may be, and you are still asleep, you ‘re gonna be in for a rude awakening when you find out that you are not one of the few whose names are written in the Book of Life.

But if you still got some desire in you, if you still got a little bit of desire for God left in your body, strengthen what remains.
